The Major Crimes Unit prosecutes the majority of the most serious and high-profile offenses committed in Kane County. These offenses include, but are not limited to, first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated vehicular hijacking, and select traffic fatalities.
The office’s most experienced prosecutors are assigned to these cases due to their serious nature, allowing little margin for error.
